  34.     Given this set up, I would say that your best option is to go ahead
  35. and connect them with a nullmodem cable.  If you're just transferring files
  36. from your Amiga to the PC, you can do a Copy <file> SER: to dump the file
  37. over the serial cable and use whatever software on the PC to receive.
  38.     You'll likely need to use MEmacs to adapt the files to PC text
  39. format before you do this.
  40.     On the other hand, considering how limited this is, your best bet
  41. is to have someone mail you VLT 5.517 and multidos 1.12(?).  VLT will let
  42. you do Z-Modem file transfers (and does a nice VT100 emulation) and 
  43. multidos will read/write low-density DOS disks.
  44.     CrossDOS isn't an option if you stick with AmigaOS 1.3; it will only
  45. run on 2.0 or higher (and is included with those versions).
  46.     I still use 1.3 on a semi-regular basis (I MUST use WordPerfect for
  47. work, and REALLY wish FinalWriter could import/export WP 5.1 at least), but
  48. AmigaOS 2+ is so much better (shameless plug).
